Wee Ones and Non-Judged Junior entries will all be recognized with a certificate.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded in each category and in each Division (from Judged Juniors to Professionals), winners will be chosen from gold placed entries.
Award levels are at the judges’ discretion. If there are fewer than 3 entries per category or the judges decide the entries are insufficient to be awarded high awards, they may decide to only award 2nd and/or 3rd place or no awards at all.
One Best of Division entry will be chosen from each division; Judged Juniors, Teens, Beginner, Culinary, Intermediate, Advanced and Professional. Best of Divisional will be chosen from 1st place winners.
One Best of Category entry will be chosen from each category; Novelty Cake, Wedding Cake, Confectionary Arts, Cookie Decoration, Cupcake Decoration and Gingerbread Art. Best of Category will be chosen from 1st place winners.
One Best of Show Adult and Youth winners will be chosen by a judge’s consensus.
Best of Show Adult $250 and Teen $125 will be awarded.
The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at approximately 3:30pm.
TASTING AWARDS/PRIZES
The Guittard Cupcake Challenge is our only tasting competition.
To participate in this challenge, one must register for to compete.
To be considered for judging, cupcakes and a clearly legible printed recipe must be checked in at our admission desk on Sunday, October 8, 2023 by 10am. Participants must deliver 6 cupcakes (boxed and not needing refrigeration) using Guittard chocolate products.
Guittard will be providing all awarded prizes, award levels are at the judges’ discretion. This is a separate competition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, starting at 3:30. While we do our best to start on time, please understand that situations outside of our control sometimes might cause delays.
Ribbons, awards, or prizes not claimed by the close of show will be forfeited. This does not change award results, but the physical goods must be claimed at by the end of show. You may appoint a representative to collect your prizes if you cannot attend the awards ceremony in person.
The exact nature/style of the ribbons, awards and prizes vary by theme, sponsorship, and donations and are not guaranteed to be the same between Divisions, Categories, or as in previous years. Where possible, we will specify prize information in advance, but in other cases, items may vary.
